The European Commission’s EU Ports Strategy (Communication “EU Port Strategy”) is a framework aimed at stepping up the competitiveness, resilience, security and sustainability of Europe’s ports. The Strategy puts forward actions focused on five priorities to address the most pressing challenges: strengthen competitiveness, innovation and digitalisation, advance energy transition, sustainability and clean industries, protect and secure ports, access to finance and investments.

They invest in green propulsion fuels and systems and lead the innovation in ecodynamic engineering that develops Nature-based Solutions for waterborne transport and coastal infrastructure (e.g. Building with Nature – EcoShape).
